Hinna Gill's interest in Reiki and reflexology were precipitated by her own health crisis, and ensuing search for answers and healing, when Western medicine failed her. As a young teacher in 2003, Hinna developed inexplicable and chronic back pain-- pain so acute she found herself in and out of hospital for 2 years, in debilitating pain, and dependant on the administration of morphine every 6 minutes.
Frail, in agony, unable to move and hospitalized, Hinna's school principal-- fearing for her life-- sought out the help of a Reiki practitioner, hoping that some relief could be found for Hinna, whose doctors had all but thrown up their hands. And that's when Hinna got her miracle, beginning her own journey into the practice of Eastern medicine that would become her life's passion and change her professional course forever.
In the face of despair and having been told she would have to accept chronic pain for the rest of her life, this stranger-- the Reiki master who had been summoned to Hinna's bedside-- went to work. Many healing sessions followed and Hinna's symptoms-- muscle spasms, acute pain, insomnia, anxiety, and morphine withdrawal-- subsided with time and she recovered fully.
Curiosity about this soothing practice that had brought so much blessed relief swelled. What was Reiki? Could she harness this powerful healing art herself to help others? Hinna wholeheartedly began her training. She has trained with several Masters and herself became a Reiki Master after much devotion to both Reiki and reflexology: the science of pressure point manipulation for optimum health.
Today Hinna enjoys an active and healthy lifestyle, free from pain, and even the joys of parenthood, something her doctors had said she would never enjoy. Professionally, Hinna is devoted to Reiki and reflexology and in these she has found meaning and beauty in her calling as a healer.
